Respite care
An opportunity to be someone's someone's someone
Respite care is designed to not only provide foster and kinship carers with a much needed break and feeling of support, but it's also an opportunity to allow other caring adults and families into a childs life.
For training happening this year
Respite can work within a time and space that best fits you and your life.
Most of the time, the primary carers and respite carers can work out what times would work best for each of them. It may be as simple as an afternoon, or an overnight every now and then, maybe it's a weekend a month. Don't let uncertainty around your availability stop you from getting involved - as the difference you will make in a childs life, a carers life, and no doubt your own life, will be worth every effort.
